Funeral Services

Finding the ideal resting place is important. Cathedral Memorial Gardens can help guide you through this process during your time of need. Cathedral Memorial Gardens cemetery is the fourth active cemetery within the Diocese of Orange. It also is the only ecumenical burial ground within the Diocese. In an effort to honor the multi-denominational origins of the space, Cathedral Memorial Gardens is available to both Catholics and non-Catholics. Located near Christ Cathedral and set below the plane of the campus, Cathedral Memorial Gardens is a peaceful setting for prayer and reflection.

Our Future

“The oldest image of the Christian Church is the porta coeli, the gateway to heaven. A cathedral, such as the Christ Cathedral when completed, lifts the mind, heart and soul of believers — and perhaps even others — to the love of God and the hope that God has promised,” said the Very Rev. Christopher Smith, Rector Emeritus of Christ Cathedral.

“The spiritual and temporal efforts to make the Christ Cathedral campus the true center of the Diocese of Orange are embodied within the design plan aimed at building a deeper unity of purpose and mission among Catholics within our local Church and a renewed commitment to permeating the world with the love of Christ.”
